About Our School
Pinnacle Peak Preparatory School (PPPS) is an "A" rated, K-8 neighborhood school adjacent to Sonoran Hills Park in North Scottsdale. We opened in the fall of 2002 to serve the families of Paradise Valley Unified School District's most northern boundaries. Pinnacle Peak is the only K-8 school in the PV School District. We offer Pre-K through 8th grade classes, as well as being home to Mascot, a before and after school program. Our goal is to encourage students, from Pre-K through 8th grade, to be successful in high school and beyond.
Why Choose Pinnacle Peak?
PPPS is committed to achieving high academic standards and a lifelong love of learning. Students will maximize their potential using the Core Knowledge© Sequence in Social Studies and Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards by virtue of a partnership between school, family, and community. As a diverse community of learners, we encourage a cooperative and collaborative effort to maintain a safe, healthy, and respectful environment. Our students are offered multiple opportunities to build their leadership skills through group work, student government, National Junior Honor Society, and volunteering. We provide a rotation of special classes to our K-6 students that includes music, art, and PE, as well as a focus on STEM, with a specialist in that area. Our middle school students get a chance to select from a variety of electives that range from musical theater and drama to STEM and robotics. We support all of our learners with a full-time reading specialist, gifted math and reading teachers, math support personnel, and special education resource teachers. Every student at Pinnacle Peak has the support to SOAR like an Eagle!!
Our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is a well-attended and vital part of our school community. The support of our amazing PTO can be seen throughout our school - from our new playground equipment and generous classroom funds, to the newly refurbished library and front lobby.

The PPPS family of learners collaborates within an engaging community that is passionate, purposeful, and productive.

In August 2016, the PVSchools Governing Board voted to approve a K-8 model for Pinnacle Peak Preparatory School (PPPS). We launched our first 7th grade class at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, and 8th grade commenced the following school year.
We are excited to offer a K-8 model and we believe there are many benefits to attending PPPS. Research shows that students benefit from smaller class sizes, increased teacher support, and more flexibility. If you are interested in a public school with a private school feel, please contact our school office at 602-449-6700.
